Workshop “Career Development”

Today, the Local Action Group AGRO LIDER held a workshop on "Career Development" to promote the importance of career choice and deciding for your ideal job, skills, and lifestyle. Prof Blagica Sekovska led the workshop "Career Development", a licensed career counselor, who presented the initial steps in the career planning process to the participants.

Career development is a process of self-knowledge, research, and decision making that shapes your career, enabling you to strengthen your skills and establish successful navigation in choosing your future profession.

Work identity is part of human development, and it is influenced by many factors and barriers, which can be overcome with proper career development planning. Independently or with support, through self-assessment of your interests, values , and skills to identify potential professions, and through research and planning to choose your future career. It is essential, in addition to choosing a profession, to get the desired employment and to know the opportunities for professional advancement.

In this direction, in European countries, career counseling and/or employment support services are being set to provide career assistance, job search support, and career change counseling to help people, especially young people in their career guidance and employment.

Within the project "Piloting services for supported employment of young people" with the support of the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in five cities in our country - Gostivar, Kumanovo, Prilep, Strumica, and Tetovo services for supported youth employment are piloted, with the support of Wien Work, Austria.

Trained youth coaches in the organizations of LAG AGRO LEADER, Izbor (Choice), Inkluziva, Community Development Institute, and Youth and Community Center closely monitor the career development of young people from social groups and by identifying their competencies, they work on improving their skills by enabling them employment commensurate with their abilities.

The services offered by the youth trainers are continuously improved through workshops and aimed at introducing opportunities for selection and training of jobs that suit the individual according to the skills, and the interests.

The establishment of these services created new opportunities for young people according to their values, interests, and personal and professional skills to be more competitive in the labor market and provide employment and professional advancement, which made a significant contribution to socio-economic development on a local and national level.
